Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to appliances and everyday objects which are interconnected via the internet. Everyday objects can be embedded with computing devices through the internet, enabling them to communicate with one another. This experiment investigated how users naturally name and reference appliances to build an interface that understands natural commands. Researchers employed a 2 between (whole house or one room at a time) x 5 within (IoT items in a room) ANOVA to examine memory for generated names.
