Abstract
Analysis of Factors Affecting Graduation and Retention Rates in the University System of Georgia
Universities often use metrics like SAT scores to determine which students to admit into their programs, but standardized tests like the SAT have long been criticized for many reasons, such as perceived cultural bias in the wording or subjects of questions, or the criteria for score evaluation. This project aims to analyze the ability of different factors, such as SAT scores and high school GPA, to predict graduation rates and retention rates, using data collected from institutions across the University System of Georgia.
