Abstract

According to the New England Journal of Medicine thirty-one percent of Breast cancer cases are misdiagnosed, therefore patients must begin treatment for a disease that they don’t have, and this can be more daunting than the disease itself. Misdiagnosis of Breast Cancer is often linked to Mammograms, which is a procedure where a patient gets their breast X-rayed to locate any tumors that may be present in the patient’s breast. The research will examine how a mammogram film is generated and determine if there is an error in the rendering process which results in abnormalities that lead to a misdiagnosis.
