Abstract
Remedios Varo, born in 1980, was a major influence in both the science and art worlds. Her works have been displayed in the Ney York Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and many art museums. Varo is known as a surrealist painter who includes topics such as mysticism, science, and alchemy, and magic in her works, but how exactly does she represent these aspects and ideas? Remedios Varo grew up with her father who encouraged her artistic abilities by teaching her to draw engineering schematics which also helped to influence her interest in the sciences. She was constantly reading and learning new scientific theories. However, she loved to create her own versions of the scientific theories she learned. But what was, and still is the one theory that we continue to investigate? Life. How was it started? Where did it come from? Remedios Varo has answered this and much more using her artwork and personal theories.
