Recreational Softball Coaching Manual: The Importance of Teaching Fundamentals

Abstract

Recreation softball leagues provide excellent opportunities for young girls to compete in an organized sport and learn the fundamentals and basics of the game while also learning valuable social skills, such as teamwork and sportsmanship. By teaching correct fundamentals and designing practices around the athlete’s learning style and where she is in the stages of learning, the game of softball can become that much more enjoyable and rewarding for the participant.
