Abstract
The available literature depicts gender roles residing in the Appalachian region as unaltered throughout time. Through the analysis of one on one interviews, this study looks at gender roles in strong marriages across generations specific to the Appalachian regions. This study analyzes specific questions related to gender roles and how they have changed from one generation to the next. Socioeconomic status and decision making processes are related to gender roles and their generational changes.
