These two young black bear cubs were playing while Mama was out hunting. While I was able to photograph these cubs, Mama came back with a freshly killed fawn in her mouth!

This commissioned piece was done for a couple who married during their second chapter in life - they were so in love, like a pair of young kids. The wife is from Puerto Rico, a magical place where my husband and I actually got married as well. This piece was created after the devastation of Hurricane Maria and features some of the buildings in the historic city. The husband converted to Catholicism for his new bride, hence the rosary. The lady represents the wife, and she is blowing love and healing blessings over Puerto Rico.

I am in love with nature, color, bright and whimsical ideas and images. Being unplugged and immersed in the beauty of nature brings forth a profound sense of peacefulness, yet it simultaneously rejuvenates and energizes me. Trees are especially beautiful to me – they are extraordinary in all that they give to our earth and its living beings – oxygen, shade, fruit, and medicine – they are strong and grounded, and they have witnessed ages more than people have.

Water Lilies are my favorite flowers to photograph. The reflection in the water impacts the photo. This was taken at Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground, GA. If you are a garden enthusiast, I recommend you visit. I do not have a Macro lens, so I work with my regular lens which can be a bit tricky!

The Mountains are calling and I must go! This is one of my early photographs. Taken at sunset atop Buck Bald, NC. From here you can see mountains in three states: TN, NC, and of course GA.

Truly a sign of fall, the pumpkin is in the spotlight this time of year! This may seem familiar to you, it was taken at Burt's Farm in Dawsonville, GA. When we first moved here, my daughter and I went to Burt's Farm. Every fall since, we go and pick out pumpkins and other fall decorations. No matter what age, it is a yearly tradition to pack up the car and head to Burt's, like many of you likely do! This photo brings back wonderful memories!

A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Middle East with my parents. The stark beauty was inspiring. But, the most incomprehensible thing to me was the amount of history in that part of the world. I let my imagination run wild with this painting of the Red Sea and imagined Moses leading the Israelites to freedom. I chose a poured acrylic painting for this because it was fluid and really showcased the water. I used a torch to bring in the cells and make it look like water bubbles. Mostly, however, it reminds me of the memories of a piece of history I made with my parents before it was too late.

I studied in Spain when I was in college and was fascinated by the flamenco dancers. Their bodies, their grace, their style--all evoke power and beauty in one dance. Although I couldn't dance like they did, I chose to paint one of the from memory last year. It was so dazzling that I tried to capture the movement and glitter. I used the oil and canvas because it was traditional perfect for showing the flow of the dancer's movement, hopefully capturing it forever.

This yearling Black Bear was practically posing for this shot. He was just peeking around a tree- likely figuring out how to get away from all the humans trying to snap a photo!
