This commissioned piece was done for a couple who married during their second chapter in life - they were so in love, like a pair of young kids. The wife is from Puerto Rico, a magical place where my husband and I actually got married as well. This piece was created after the devastation of Hurricane Maria and features some of the buildings in the historic city. The husband converted to Catholicism for his new bride, hence the rosary. The lady represents the wife, and she is blowing love and healing blessings over Puerto Rico.

I am in love with nature, color, bright and whimsical ideas and images. Being unplugged and immersed in the beauty of nature brings forth a profound sense of peacefulness, yet it simultaneously rejuvenates and energizes me. Trees are especially beautiful to me – they are extraordinary in all that they give to our earth and its living beings – oxygen, shade, fruit, and medicine – they are strong and grounded, and they have witnessed ages more than people have.

My sister used to raise guinea hens, and her hens were consistently cantankerous and difficult. I thought she would enjoy this painting of a particularly salty guinea hen
